Meet Stephanie
Hello and welcome! I am not only the creator behind My Altared Home but also a practicing Wiccan Elder, and bedside nurse. My journey is deeply influenced by a rich, Roman Catholic upbringing, combined with a deep passion for history, mythology, and folklore. At the heart of everything I do is a dedication to healing in all its forms—whether caring for patients at the hospital, nurturing plants in my garden, or crafting creations that inspire connection, balance, and transformation.
My practice is rooted in the sacred energies of the earth, the serpent, the moon, and the divine. My garden is my temple, where I grow most of the herbs and flowers used in my creations, and my kitchen is my altar, where transformation and magic come to life.
Beyond My Altared Home, I am the co-creatrix of The Serpent and the Dove, a spiritual community I run with my sister and co-priestess, Beth Barling. Together, we lead retreats, host sacred circles, and offer education and events that empower others to connect with their own magic and the divine energies within and around them. Our work is dedicated to helping people embrace their personal power, navigate spiritual growth, and heal on both personal and collective levels.
With a background in psychology, biology, and nursing, I bring a grounded approach to my craft, honoring the harmony between the physical and spiritual realms. My creations are designed to inspire connection, healing, and transformation, helping others turn their homes and lives into sacred spaces.
Whether I’m caring for others as a nurse, wandering the woods, or working alongside my sister in ritual and education, my mission is to guide others in discovering the magic that lies within themselves and the world around them.
